Members and guests witnessed the adoption of one of the largest American Legion Riders chapters in Indiana to start and the only chapter in Hendricks County.  For quite a long time the riders of Avon have been supporters of other American Legion Rider chapters such as Speedway Post 500, Wayne Post 64, Mooresville Post 103 and Lebanon Post 113.  They all have been a direct integral in the success of the start of our chapter.  While we thank them for their support, we also thank everyone that attended our first organizational meeting that yielded almost 50 members immediately. We started with all positions volunteered and we also adopted a committee; ‘First Year Charity Committee’ to help us fund our first years’ growth with ideas to grow our chapter.  Welcome to our Honorary Members and a  special thank you to Bob Schnell (2007 ALR State Director) and Pat Phillips (2007 ALR State Sergeant at Arms) for their help.  Thank you all for your dedicated support to the American Legion through the Riders of Avon.
